It was a fun day for Call of Duty fans yesterday. During a NEXT reveal by Activision, the new footage shows upcoming features for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone version 2.0. One of the most exciting elements is being able to dive into the water and employ aquatic combat against players and vehicles.
If you recall previous titles, landing in water would kill or respawn you. It looks like Activision is taking Modern Warfare 2 to the next level with the new swimming ability. Besides going underwater, you can also shoot other players or attack boats from the murky depths.
Here’s the latest Modern Warfare 2 trailer with some images for Warzone:
It looks like these new features will be available in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. Besides water enhancements, the way you fight underwater will have a dramatic impact on movement and bullet speed. You’ll need to learn how to adapt to the new environments if you want to become a marine fighter.
There are other tactical improvements. Sliding and diving are now options if you want to evade rapid gunfire. If you want to spy on your surroundings, you can hang onto a ledge and look over the top. It looks like these Modern Warfare 2 updates bring more stealth mechanics to the game, which means you’ll have to constantly watch your six and every other clock direction around you.
While the Modern Warfare 2 beta leak was a few months ago, it’s going to finally be available for PlayStation gamers today with Xbox and Pc following on September 22, 2022. From the trailer, it’s clear we’re going to have plenty of action with new vehicles, maps, weapons, and more.
